Wine + Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Today, let's dive into what role wine plays in Thanksgiving: what to drink when, what pairs well with all the scrumptious dishes. There is the cooking wine that you might also sip, there is the wine with the meal aka the main event and then there is the post-wine wind-down. I’ll also share my favorite turkey recipe (shout-out Alison Roman), my favorite way to use T-Day leftovers, and my wine pairing pro-moves (including an exotic bottle to go with your holiday pie). It's a day to put down the phone, pick up a glass and make some serious eye contact!

 Helen's Sbagliato
Wine glass or goblet
4 ounces (a great) prosecco or sparkling rosé
1 oz sweet vermouth (Helen uses Carpano Antica)
0.5-0.75 ounce Campari or Aperol
Splash of club soda
Wheels of your preferred citrus (Helen likes grapefruits and oranges)
Lots and lots of ice

Featured wines:

Hiyu Wine Farms! These wines are allocated and the shop doesn't have any but you can also order directly from them.

For something else that has the same vibe, you could also check out Amevive Wines...they are magical!

Go-to Gamays, the classic turkey pairing: Jean Foillard, Dutraive, Thevenet, Descombes! Check out helenswines.com and search for Gamay to see our current selection! Stay away from the Nouveau :)

Bugey Cerdon demi-sec sparkling rose is my secret dessert weapon! Try and find the one from Patrick Botex!)
