Cume do Avia
Cume do Avia, Colleita 10, Tinto, Ribeiro, Caino Longo/Souson/Brancellao, 2022
The Vineyards of Cume do Avia are steeped in romance, the soft rolling hills are traced with hand built stone walls cutting through tall grass fields and old indigenous vines. Twenty years ago a group of Brothers reclaimed their family’s forgotten vineyard sites and have revived the vines' vitality over time to such an impressive level of quality and finesse. The vineyards are all on top of mountains and have super complex terroirs and boast old vines of twenty different Galician grape varietals. The wines are absolutely graceful, almost cosmic in their delivery. The lightness and authenticity abounds and you feel almost like you are drinking a Galician queen energy grape with every sip. So cool to drink grapes that are specific to a place with some of the best terroir in the world. Cheers to Spain!
