Closseries des Moussis is what I would call a micro estate in Bordeaux. Surrounded by some of the biggest players in the field, like Chateau Margaux, Moussis is 4.5 hectares of pure love and biodynamic innovation. I have been tasting these wines for about ten years and this vintage is probably the best I have ever had from them. They have gotten so good at farming and winemaking it's absolutely mind boggling! Two women run this estate biodynamically, they farm with two horses, are surrounded by a forest, harvest earlier than their neighbors and are showcasing terroir in an exceptional fashion. When I tasted this wine, I felt the energy of that place, the gravely soil, but dry deep garnet fruits. I love when a Bordeaux is not overly oaked and so delicious you can’t put it down. This wine is that!!
Serving temp: Cellar temp, around 65 degrees, make sure to store in a cool and dark place!
Pairing: Steak Frites!! Classic bistro vibes.
